You Are What You Eat

You are what you eat. This expression is especially true when it comes to skin care. Beauty can also come within. Eating the correct foods can help to improve your skin, get you that inner glow and also make you feel better. These five foods can help your skin look fresh and clear:

1) Peppers

Red, green and yellow peppers. All colours are said to be rich in vitamin C and therefore an essential element for your skin. Pepper with hummus is no only a healthy snack in between meals, but delicious to eat.

2) Salmon

Salmon is rich in Omega 3, which is another important ingredient for skin care. Whether grilled or smoked, salmon is a great source of getting that skin glowing. Salmon from Scotland, Ireland or Alaska are supposed to be toxin free.

3) Ginger

Excellent in a smoothie, curry or tea, ginger should always have a place in any kitchen. It also almost never goes out of date. It is a natural anti-microbial food that possesses many essential oils to fight germs. Ideal in teas during the winter months.

4) Broccoli

Broccoli is a hormone balancing food and best eaten almost raw (not to mention the stalks). Make sure to not boil it for too long so the vitamins or crunchiness isn’t lost.

5) Avocado

Avocado toast. That is all we will say here. And the fact that it’s a healthy fat.

Have the vegetables chopped up ready in your fridge, so they are ready when you fancy a healthy snack. Or why not whip all these five foods together and make a healthy skin salad?
