1) Le Panier
Le Panier is a cute, hippy district located on the west part of the port. The further you walk up, the more coffee and tea shops you will find, as well as soap manufacturers and lavender companies. It is a perfect afternoon out for some shopping and French patisserie.

2) Unité d'habitation
Probably one of the most famous buildings in Marseille. A modernist typology developed by Le Corbusier and a UNESCO building since 2016. Just a bus ride away from the port and you can take the lift to one of the most gorgeous views in Marseille.

3) Notre Dame La Garde
A big walk up to the most breathtaking sights of Marseille. It is situated in the highest part of Marseille and is definitely worth the walk up. You can treat yourself to a pain au chocolat in one of the bakeries close by as a reward

4) Les Calanques
A quick escape from the city into the nature are the calanques, which boast the Cote d’azurs Beauty. Les Calanques, (word for cliffs in English) take you along the Mediterranean sea with many different kinds of randonnés on offer. It is the perfect location for calm and escape from the hectic of mopeds from the city. Be sure to bring a picknick for the day.

5) Plage de Catalans
The city’s most well kept secret and hidden from tourists, it is among the locals, the most popular beach located in a bourgeois part of Marseille. Here you can find yourself wondering the streets, which will lead you to the little port Pont du Vallon des Auffres, perfect to watch the sunset over the water over a glass of rouge.
